Day 2 – Arrival
Chakra – Vishuddha/Throat
Mantra – “I am open, clear and honest”
Arrive in South Africa and transfer to Little Garonga. After a delicious lunch and venue orientation we'll head out into the bush and gather together in beautiful surrounds for a welcome circle.
Theme – Grounding
Chakra – Muladhara/Root
Mantra – “I am here”
Wake up to the sounds of the African savanna. The morning asana is a grounding flow designed to help you adjust to your new environment and centre yourself in the present. After breakfast we will sit close to discuss the 8 limbs of yoga gaining tools to deepen your experience of yoga off the mat. Spend some free time reading a book by then pool or having a massage until we head out into the reserve for our private game drive, returning after sunset for a healthy supper. You may even wish to have a luxurious bath in the bush first.
Theme – Letting go
Chakra – Svahisthana/Sacral
Mantra – “I embrace my life with passion”
Rising early for superb game viewing, we will head off for our first early morning drive around the African wilderness. An asana posture clinic after breakfast will take your practice back to basics & deepen your anatomical & postural knowledge, and give you the chance to explore the mythical & symbolic meaning behind some icon postures. Before dinner we continue our internal exploration with a yin & yoga nidra meditation.
Theme - Trusting
Chakra – Ajna/Third Eye
Mantra – “I know my true self”
An ancient fig tree provides the canopy for our morning practice. As light beams find their way through the large
leaves we rise up & salute to the sun trusting & uplifting ourselves by drawing on our inner strength & harnessing powerful energy that flows in & around us. After a yummy bush picnic breakfast we will head back to the camp for a group yoga session where we will challenge the idea of the limits we often set for ourselves and call upon our
communication skills, patience, trust and our ability to let go to discover new heights and possibilities.
