Corsica Yoga Week!
July 23, 2016

No Brainer!
When I was first approached by Mark Warner to run yoga weeks at San Lucianu Beach Resort, one of their lovely holiday's on the beautiful Island of Corsica it didn't take me long to decide how to answer and I'm sure you won't be surprised to hear it was a resounding yes! The opportunity to spend a week in the sun sharing what I love with some lovely yogis and one of my closest friends, and fabulously inspiring yoga teacher Ela Soza was a no brainer.
Â
The Main Aim

Yet still there was a lot to think about, Mark
Warner holidays are packed with an array of activities on offer including sailing, windsurfing, tennis and cycling. I wanted to create a program that would run alongside what else they had on offer, suit a variety of levels of experience & create a relaxed & rejuvenating atmosphere. Mark Warner are also well known for their excellent childcare and I thought the idea of holding a yoga retreat where families can relax together and the parents can also easily get some precious moments on the yoga mat was just perfect.

Get Stuck in....
After a lot of thought and planning we ended up with a program that incorporated active Vinyasa Flow classes with relaxing Yin and restorative sessions. These ran alongside meditation & breath work classes, posture alignment clinics and a yoga philosophy discussion. Some partner workshops and SUP Yoga sessions also brought an opportunity to play and test ones limits, and balance too! Â

On a High!
There were so many highlights from the week so I thought I would share a few:Â

Â
Â
Taking a dip in the ice cold, crystal clear waterfall pool after a hot walk up through the Corsican wilderness
Â
Â

Â
Â
Having a fantastic adventure with a wonderful group of yogis and making new friends!
Â
Seeing the sense of calm and contentment on peoples faces after the final restorative class and witnessing sheer joy as the yogis experienced something new, overcame resistance to something or accomplished something they hadn't believed possible throughout the week.Â
Â

Â
Morning sun salutations on the beach and the SUP yoga session on the calm, warm Mediterranean Sea (despite my GoPro sinking into the bottom of the sea......!)Â
Â

And last but definitely not least...
Â
Â
Â
Ela serenading us with her angelic voice around the fire and we closed the week and said our goodbyes.
